Okay, so I am here because I have had just about all I can take from this thing. I search for a forum, and found this one on google, I hope anyone might be able to help. I have been seeing something in my room, not a person, or an animal's shape, just a sort of mass of shadows that hovers around. It doesnt happen every night, but I'll wake up, and feel a sense of foreboding. Then I'll feel a tight pressure on my chest like something is sitting on my ribcage, sometimes my eyes won't open, no matter how hard I try to, but I can tell where it is even without seeing it. When I can see it, it is just a deeper shadow in my room, not really a shape, I have white walls so you can easily see its not any part of my room. It just stands over me, or sometimes a few feet away and a splitting, shrill noise will ring in my ears. To explain it, I say it is like a ringing in the ears, but its not really that, it is accompanied by sharp pain in my head from the shear volume of the noise, but I cant ever move to cover my ears. I am christian, and when I begin to pray it instantly goes away, I can move again, and the room seems lighter. For the entire day after it happens, it is hard to breath right, as my chest still feels like someone is squeezing my ribs. I have recently moved and it still comes, with more frequency if anything.
Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? I've looked and looked and can't seem to find anything this presence might be.

Yes I have heard of this, first of all I want you to know that I know exactly what you are talking about. I have had it happen to me ever since I was a young girl. Look up sleep paralysis... & also look up incubus & Sudden unexpected death syndrome. Okay I don't want to freak you out but people have died from this. Usually it effects an area of people, the most I've read about was 230 hmong refugees dying in there sleep... the ones that survived would describe something pushing on their chest & that they were paralyzed. Some believe its superstition but you can't ignore those facts... Research it. I was amazed. Scientists explain it as just a sleep disorder but others think its something else... like demons coming to us while we sleep & choking us... holding us down... pushing on our chests. & we can't do anything b/c we are paralyzed. I hate that feeling but the older I have gotten... the more control I have over it. I can wake myself up now... some people stay under for so long... & some die. I have heard that praying does make them go away... which is very interesting. Continue to do what you are doing... meditate before you go to bed. Clear your mind of negative things... I hope this helps. Good luck.
